Choosing which style of engraving you like can be a daunting choice - especially if you are purchasing the signet ring as a gift! This blog post aims to help clearly show the difference between the 3 styles, and hopefully make your decision easier.
With this style you get to choose if you would like black enamel - the above image shows how it will look without the enamel. Despite being called surface engraving it is still very deep - deeper than a laser engraving; and the amount of shading and detail that can be included is phenomenal.
This style is deep carved in reverse - this in turn allows a 3D wax impression to be produced, just as it would have happened hundreds, if not thousands of years ago. This is a very traditional style of engraving. Any lettering on the design will be engraved backwards on the signet to ensure it is the correct way around in your wax stamp.
We also sell sealing wax kits should you wish to have a go at creating wax impressions yourself! It's easy and fun!
This style is a more modern option - although extremely time consuming and intricate to produce. These rings come with black enamel as standard to really make the details pop. Background removal is best suited to larger signet face sizes.
We're pleased to now offer sealing wax kits as an additional extra to any client who purchases a seal engraved signet ring from us 😀
We want our clients to have the opportunity to use their signet ring as was initially intended and this kit provides all the information you need to create wax seals like the pro's!
If you have commissioned a seal engraved ring from us in the past and wish to purchase a kit just drop us an email for further information 👌🏼
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
Thankfully we had another great year as we learn to live with covid-life and all the new 'normals' that it throws our way.
We had some really great clients this year (as always!) - we may not get to meet you in person but it's been a pleasure chatting via email and phone - thank you for placing your trust in us and allowing us to bring your ideas to life for birthdays, weddings and just because!
We already have an amazing array of commissions lined up for next year which we can't wait to share with you in due course - we are booking out fast for 2022 so if you have something in mind we'd recommend getting in touch sooner rather than later as spots remaining are limited....it's going to be a busy year!
We hope you are able to enjoy Xmas with family and friends - we know a lot of people who are isolating or are restricted by borders, including ourselves, but try to make the best of a not ideal situation - and bring on 2022!!
From the bottom of our hearts - Thank You for your continued support, it means the world!
Stay safe, be kind and look after yourselves.
Carly & Ray x
Tools down for the final time of 2019! It’s been another fantastic year with more amazing clients entrusting us to bring their ideas to life. We’ve met some truly wonderful people this year, and also reconnected with previous clients who have returned for more!
We’re very fortunate to be part of such an amazing jewellery industry and community; there’s been lows amongst the highs this year, both personally and for colleagues in the trade – the support we received, and have seen given to others, is beautiful.
We don’t get to share images of all the commissions Ray works on – but below is a highlight of what’s crossed his workbench this year, each one with their own special story. There are already some exciting commissions booked in for 2020 and we look forward to sharing these with you next year.
We wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas & a healthy and happy New Year….2020, we’re coming for you!!!
Are you thinking of getting the love of your life a surprise gift for your wedding day? Maybe you're thinking of buying him a watch as a token of your love and a reminder of the best day of your lives so far?
How about going a step further and having a secret message hand engraved on the back of the case...making it a truly personal gift for the Groom; just imagine his surprise upon opening it when getting ready with his Groomsmen!
The options of what to engrave are endless - your entwined initials, your wedding date or your favourite saying are the most popular options. Unlike laser engraving, this will last a lifetime no matter how often the watch is worn.
What would you engrave for your Groom?
This week we reached a significant milestone on our Instagram page - 30,000 followers!
It's hard to imagine what 30,000 people actually look like....but to give you an idea it's enough to fill Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne more than twice!
Below is an image of the new Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, Australia - seating capacity 30,000 people - how incredible is that to think we could fill it with our loyal followers?!
Thank you to all of our followers, old & new, who have shared this crazy dream with us, you've help us reach this milestone with all your likes, comments and shares and we're eternally grateful.
An even bigger thank you goes to our wonderful clients....without you there wouldn't be much to post! We love your passion and respect for hand engraving, your openness for creativity and your willingness to let us share your commissions.
