Tasmanian Parliamentary Mace

Ray recently had the great honour of being asked to engrave the Tasmanian Parliamentary Mace.

The Mace was donated to the Parliament in 1956 by the Davies family and was made by a local jeweller, Harlod F Sargison.  The Mace is 1.35m in length and weighs 4.3kgs. It is made of sterling silver and 9ct yellow gold and includes many semi-precious Tasmanian gemstones.

The signature of each Speaker has been hand engraved upon the main staff since 1856.
