Not many people have had the chance to see traditional hand engraving done. The below video is a short example of how Ray works - with a hand push graver, eyeglass and GRS vice. In this video Ray is engraving a script monogram onto a sterling silver ring. You can see how the letter 'G' is almost completed in just one single cut!

The options are endless when creating your very own bespoke matching set.... Ray recently had the great honour of being asked to engrave the Tasmanian Parliamentary Mace. The Mace was donated to the Parliament in 1956 by the Davies family and was made by a local jeweller, Harlod F Sargison. The Mace is 1.35m in length and weighs 4.3kgs. It is made of sterling silver and 9ct yellow gold and includes many semi-precious Tasmanian gemstones. The signature of each Speaker has been hand engraved upon the main staff since 1856. If you follow London Engraver's Facebook and Instragram feeds you will have recently seen this Rolex Deepsea watch with it's nautical theme. It's not every day you get to hand engrave a Viking helmet!! This was brought to us by the Scandinavian Association of South Australian - it's awarded each year to their Viking of the Year, so Ray was engraving the name for 2016 - congratulations Linda!! |
